 Reviews

"What you and Dr. Cerulli have to offer families is a blessing. It's been what I've been searching for, for years. My ADHD family floodgates have opened up since my daughter was first diagnosed in 2000. Since that time, my son, my oldest daughter, my niece, and my nephew have all joined her. I too just received my diagnosis. It finally dawned on me that they must have gotten it from somewhere. No one has to convince me about the genetic link."

"Dear Dr. Stern,

Every time I read one of your e-mails, I am moved to tears. Your outlook & professionalism is so refreshing, and unfortunately so rare, from what I have experienced so far. I love the fact that you see the beauty and gifts in the children and adults who are different, and even more so you actually voice it. The professionals I have met with so far have offered little in the way of help, understanding, reassurance, or encouragement. What a difference it would make for just one of them to reinforce what you say in you share - and what a truly wonderful, creative world we would live in to see people living their lives 'differently.'"

Team Members:

The ADHD Family Online could not exist without the heart and soul of the professionals who have devoted their lives to changing the lives of others! I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to our expert contributors -- each of who bring a very special perspective to our thriving community:

Founder / Child & Family ADHD Coach

Rory Stern, PsyD

Having started ADHDFamilyOnline.com, Dr. Stern wants each and every family to know that living with ADHD does not mean someone is broken, needs to be fixed, or that life has to be a struggle. Having struggled with his own differences, Rory was given every opportunity to find creative ways to plug his passion and unique talents into the world in a way that people understood.

"I was fortunate enough to receive all the extra attention and encouragement that a child needs to succeed. And the most important difference was that I was encouraged to be creative... I was encouraged to be different... And my differences were celebrated."

Despite my early success, I was NOT immune to struggling at school or among my peer group. I was different. I stood out. And that created a lot trouble for me. I was easily bored and not easily amused by some of the simpler things that many of peers enjoyed. I always wanted more. I sought out learning at every opportunity.

Things were pretty easy for me until I left my comfort zone, moving away from the environment where people knew me as "gifted." Suddenly, everyone saw passion, energy, and creativity as ADHD. Never being one for labels, I try to inspire my clients and my families to focus on the strengths and unique talents that we each have to offer this world.

Licensed Psychiatrist And Chief Contributor

Theresa Cerulli, MD

No stranger herself to being personally affected by ADHD, Dr. Cerulli has focused her career on delivering integrative care that focuses on the person as a whole. As a psychiatrist and advocate in the ADHD community, Dr. Cerulli offers an incredible breath of fresh air to the world of psychiatry.

Never just dispensing medications right away, Dr. Cerulli likes to fully understand how ADHD is affecting a person's life. She wants to know how her patients hope to manage and overcome the effects ADHD has on their lives. Only then will she begin to carefully create and devise a tailored treatment plan, that might eventually include medication.
